Important Notice
By placing a booking with Mini Skip Hire Adelaide, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Mini Skip Hire Adelaide.
1. Service Agreement
By booking a skip bin through Mini Skip Hire Adelaide, you agree to these terms and conditions in their entirety. Our service includes delivery, hire period, and collection of wheelie bins for waste disposal. These terms apply to all bookings and services provided by Mini Skip Hire Adelaide.
2. Hire Period
- Standard hire period is 7 days from delivery
- Extended hire is available at an additional daily rate ($5 per day)
- Maximum hire period is 30 days
- Delivery and collection occur on business days only (Monday-Friday)
- We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for schedule changes
- The customer must ensure the bin is accessible for collection at the scheduled time
3. Weight Limits - IMPORTANT
Maximum Weight: 150kg per bin
All bins are subject to a strict maximum weight limit of 150 kilograms. This limit is in place to ensure safe handling, transport, and compliance with waste facility requirements.
Overweight Fees:
- Assessment fee: $50 flat fee for any bin exceeding 150kg
- Excess weight charge: $0.50 per kilogram for every kg over 150kg
- Overweight bins may be refused collection until excess weight is removed
- Weight is determined at the waste facility using calibrated scales
Example: A bin weighing 200kg would incur a $50 assessment fee plus $25 excess weight charge (50kg x $0.50) = $75 total overweight fee.
By accepting these terms, you authorise Mini Skip Hire Adelaide to charge any applicable overweight fees to the payment method used for your booking.
4. Acceptable Waste
Our bins accept light general household and garden waste including:
- General household waste and rubbish
- Garden waste, green waste, branches, and leaves
- Light renovation debris (plasterboard, timber offcuts, carpet)
- Furniture, mattresses, and household items
- Cardboard, paper, and packaging materials
- Clothing and textiles
5. Prohibited Items - STRICTLY NOT ACCEPTED
The following items are STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
Heavy/Solid Waste Materials (cause overweight bins):
- Bricks - NO bricks of any kind
- Concrete - NO concrete, cement, or mortar
- Tiles - NO ceramic tiles, roof tiles, or pavers
- Rocks and stones - NO rocks, gravel, or rubble
- Soil, sand, and dirt - NO soil, sand, clay, or fill
- Aggregate materials - NO crushed rock or hardcore
Hazardous Materials:
- Asbestos or any materials containing asbestos
- Chemicals, paints, solvents, and oils
- Gas bottles or pressurised containers
- Batteries (car batteries, lithium batteries)
- Medical or biological waste
- Tyres
Other Prohibited Items:
- Liquid waste of any kind
- Electronic waste (e-waste) including TVs, computers, appliances
- Food waste in large quantities
- Animal waste or carcasses
Prohibited Items Fee:
If prohibited items are found in the bin, you will be charged a $150 contamination feeplus any additional disposal costs incurred. In severe cases (hazardous materials), bins may be returned uncollected and a $200 return trip fee will apply.
6. Bin Placement & Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring a suitable placement location for the bin. The bin must:
- Be placed on a flat, stable surface capable of supporting the bin weight
- Be accessible for our delivery truck at all times
- Not block driveways, footpaths, or public access ways
- Comply with all local council regulations
- Be placed within your property boundary unless a council permit is obtained
- Not be moved to an inaccessible location after delivery
If the bin cannot be collected due to access issues, a $75 failed collection fee will apply for each additional collection attempt required.
7. Payment Terms
- Full payment is required at time of booking
- Payments are processed securely via Square payment processing
- All prices include GST, delivery, and standard collection
- Additional charges (overweight, contamination, extended hire, failed collection) will be charged to the payment method on file
- By providing your payment details, you authorise Mini Skip Hire Adelaide to charge any additional fees incurred as per these terms
8. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- 48+ hours before delivery: Full refund
- 24-48 hours before delivery: 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours: No refund
- After delivery: No refunds once the bin has been delivered
To cancel a booking, please contact us by phone or email. The cancellation time is determined by when we receive and confirm your cancellation request.
9. Liability & Indemnity
Mini Skip Hire Adelaide is not liable for:
- Damage to driveways, surfaces, or property caused by bin placement or weight
- Damage caused by improper use of the bin
- Third-party access to or tampering with the bin during the hire period
- Delays caused by factors outside our control (weather, road closures, etc.)
You agree to indemnify Mini Skip Hire Adelaide against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these terms, misuse of the bin, or placement of prohibited items in the bin.

11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
